A REVIEW OF "FOR THE BROKEN EYES"

I must confess that For The Broken Eyes proved to be quite an arduous read for me. The novel is a complex tapestry of spirituality, religion, history, politics, sexual abuse, gender discrimination, family dynamics, friendship and education all intricately woven together by the author. It is truly remarkable how he was able to deftly blend these intricate themes into one cohesive narrative.

At times while reading Omeiza's work I felt as though I had stumbled upon a horic-mantic novel; so many tragedies were depicted throughout its pages that it left me feeling deeply saddened. Yet despite this emotional turmoil I found myself unable to put the book down until I had reached its conclusion.

The first three chapters alone are nothing short of explosive! As a reader you can't help but empathize with the protagonist who finds herself pitted against seemingly insurmountable odds. Her struggle against such adversity makes for compelling reading indeed.

For The Broken Eyes is not just meant for those who are visually impaired; it speaks to us all in some way or another because we have all experienced brokenness at some point in our lives. Some of us may have even given up on trying to mend what has been damaged beyond repair. This novel explores how each character deals with their own unique form of brokenness - from severe molestation and rape suffered by the protagonist herself -to Miss Evelyn discovering her fiancé engaged in sexual intercourse with another woman within her own home- which almost shattered her emotionally- to victims kidnapped or killed by those they trusted.

Caroline's life could be likened to surviving an atomic bomb; yet despite being broken she refused remain so indefinitely.

For The Broken Eyes boasts interesting plot twists and turns along with romantic undertones that make this piece highly engaging throughout its 130 pages -it's definitely worth your time investment! This book comes highly recommended for readers seeking thought-provoking literature at its finest.
